IMPORTANT NOTICE: The TransIT-COS Transfection Kit will be phased out in 2014 for discontinuation by year end. Our primary recommendation for transfecting COS cell types is the new broad-spectrum TransIT-X2¢â Dynamic Delivery System, that offers the following benefits to researchers:

  • Comparable gene expression to TransIT-COS Kit (see data below)
  • Efficient delivery of siRNA/miRNA in addition to plasmid DNA

Easier-to-use TransIT-X2¢â System Exhibits Comparable Gene Expression to TransIT-COS¢ç Kit. COS-7 cells were transfected with a luciferase expression plasmid using the TransIT-COS Transfection Kit or the TransIT-X2 Delivery System at the reagent-to-DNA ratios indicated beneath each bar. Transfections were performed in 96-well plates using 0.1 µg of plasmid DNA per well. Luciferase expression was measured at 24 hours post-transfection.  Error bars represent the standard deviation of triplicate wells.
